Read the generic guide first

Platform guides cover the manufacturer layer sitting on top of a device you have probably already set up, and each guide here assumes you have done that first. Samsung, Google and Amazon each add their own mode or feature set over stock Android, with its own separate settings screen. Do the Android or tablet guide before these, or you will be configuring the top layer of a device whose base is still open.

What these add is a maker-specific mode or feature set that the generic guide cannot reach — and which almost always has its own separate switch, in its own separate place, that stays off until you find it.
