For schools & libraries
What this site covers, how it is made, which printables you can hand out, and how to link to it.
SecureYourKidsDevice is a free library of parental-control setup guides and printables for parents, published by Lexeprint Inc. with no advertising, no affiliate links and no login. Schools, libraries, parent groups and nonprofits may print and hand out unmodified copies of the printables free, with attribution, and anyone may link to any page.
What the site covers
- Setup guides for devices, apps, games and consoles, and streaming services, with the parental-control settings in order.
- Quick start by age: ages 0–6, 7–12 and 13–17.
- Situation guides, such as a first phone or turning 13.
- Emergency help: what to do first about sextortion, a stranger in a child’s messages, shared images, scams and account theft, with the official reporting routes.
- Organizations to consult: crisis lines, reporting services, regulators and parent-guidance nonprofits in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
- Printables, and a glossary of the terms parents meet second-hand.
The site is written for parents and carers. It is not legal, medical or professional advice, it does not cover administering school-owned devices (the school-issued devices guide is written for the parents of students who use them), and we are not affiliated with any vendor we write about.
How the content is made
The content is drafted with the substantial assistance of AI, working from vendor documentation and published safety research. Some articles are published automatically and are not read by a person before they go live. Guides are corrected and re-verified against vendor documentation over time, they are checked against that documentation where a page says so, and every page shows the date it was last reviewed. Settings menus change often and AI-drafted steps can contain errors, so check that date and the vendor’s own help pages before teaching from a guide. More detail is on the About page.
Found something wrong? Send us the page and, for a settings step, the device and OS version through the contact form. When we confirm an error, we correct the page itself.
Printing and handing out copies
Schools, libraries, parent groups and nonprofits may print and hand out unmodified copies free, with attribution. Keep the page as it is, including its date and disclaimer, and credit “SecureYourKidsDevice.com (Lexeprint Inc.)”. For anything beyond that, see the terms of use or ask through the contact form.
